George Shtmy, charged with tho theft of two .-hecj'iea of £4 aud £llO, respectively, pleaded guilty, and was placed on probation for six month--, ordered to make restitution of £-1 of tiio money’ stolen, aud to pay £lO costs of the prosecution, at £J par mouth. George Newman and James Down wore eftarged with robbery’ from the person in a hotel. Bown "as found not guilty ; and iiewman was convicted and sentenced to 12 months’ hard labour. Martin JSdward Lock, a y’oung man charged with indecently assaulting a girl under ten years of age, was found guilty. Walter IS at bey was charged with sheep .stealing at Akaroa. The case for tho prosecution closed, and tho Court adjourned till to-morrow.
