An open social was held in connection with the above in the Social Hall, on Thursday, IGth, there being a very good attendance. Bro. Barr acted as chairman. The programme was opened by Sister H. Richardson playing an organ selection “The Gloria.” The following items were then given Bro. Kelly, song, “The Bow of Blue” ; Bro. O’Brien, Dutch Song; Bro. Armstrong, recitation, “ The Last Shot”; Bro. Rutland, song, “ The Sleeping Camp ”; Sister Greaves, recitation “Majuba Hill”; Sister 11. Kichardson, song, “Ora ProKobis”; Mr P. McGaskill, song, “The Irish Jubilee,” and in response to an encore Hooligan’s Mule ”; Bro. Syme, soug, “ We’re getting it” ; Bro. O’Brien, song, Three Pretty Maids.” At tins stage there was an interval, during which refreshments were handed round by the various members of the Lodge. The programme was then continued: — Song, “Let us speak of a man as we find him song, Mr W. Mcßratuey, “The Coster’s Sister ” ; Bro. Lyons, song, “ Tell Mother I am coming Home ”; Bro. Richardson, song, “ The Friar of Orders Grey”; Bro. Armrecitation, “ How we beat the Captain’s Colt”; Mr P. McCaskill, song, “The Scotch Brigade” ; Bro. O’Brien,song, “ She’s neat and Pretty.” The items were liberally applauded and much enjoyed by the audience, who seemed much pleased with the evening’s amusement. The proceedings terminated by singing the closing ode.
