At the Wellington Races on Saturday, the Petone Handicap was won byMeltawood (dividend Jill), Hack Welter by Waterford (dividend £i Ss), Pearse Handicap by Materoa (dividend £ls 10s), November Hurdles by Frost, who was, however, disqualified and Huku was awarded the stakes (dividend on Huku £4- 17s), Secjnd Welter by Whitney (dividend .£3 14s), Hack Flying Handicap by Wetguard (dividend £3 Os), Waiwetu Handicap by Chasseur (dividend £2 Ss. The totalisator receipts foe the meeting amounted to £20,14(5, an increase of £4397 as compared with last year's spring meeting.
