Geraldine Cottage Gardens.

At the last annual meeting of the Geraldine Floral and Horticultural Society it was decided that the cottage' garden competition should commence early in the season and end on the day of the show, instead of, as in previous years, simply being a one-day competition, enabling competitors to have their gardens “got up ” for the occasion. To carry out the new idea the committee visited the several gardens entered on Nov. 20th, 1899, and gave points for flowers, vegetables, fruit, and general cultivation, and the rest of the work was left for the judges on the day of the show.
