Mr John Henderson, licensee of the Glencoe Hotel, Glenavy, met with a fatal accident on Tuesday. Mr Henderson was driving home from Oamaru on Tuesday in a buggy, and at Hildeirthorpe the horse bolted, continuing its career to the Waitaki Bridge, a distance of four miles, and dragging Mr Henderson. Mr Henderson was conscious when picked up, but expired almost immediately afterwards.
