Tistaru Pbesbtteey. The Eev. J. Dickson's name was inadvertently omitted from our report as among those present at the meeting of the Timaru Presbytery on Tuesday. After consideration of the remit of the Assembly re election and call* ing of ministers, it was resolved—" That this Presbytery unanimously disapproves of the proposal containedjin the report to give adherents a new standing in connection to with such an important spiritual duty as the election of a minister. The Presbytery views this proposal with extreme disfavour, as one that would tend to endanger the best interests of the Church and lead to very serious evils. As regards the proposal for changes in order of procedure, tho Presbytery r grets that oandidatiog is still given snob, prominence, and will be prepared to co-operate in perfecting a schema which may be acceptable to the whole Church."
