A very pretty wedding toot place at Kiverslea, Temuka, on Thursday afternoon, the parties being Miss Frances Louisa Pye, eldest daughter of Mr Chas. Pye, and Mr B. Brooks, of Studholme Junction. The eeremouy was performed by the Rev. J. Dickson at the home of the bride's parents, under the verandah, this arrangement being considered the most suitable on account of the large number of guests present, and it proved a very pleasing one, as the day was beautifully fine. The bridesmaids were Misses Nellie (chief bridesmaid), Jenny and Ettie Pye, sisters of the bride, and the groomsman, Mr H. Pye, brother of the bride. The bride's dress was composed of a cream fancy material, trimmed with satin, and bube ribbon and picture hat. She carried a lovely bouquet, the gift of Mrs J. Brown (Temuka). Niss Nellie was dressed in cream-coloured inatsrial, and Misses Ettie and Jenny in pink, with picture hats. All carried bouquets tied with white ribbon. After the ceremony choice and abundance of refreshments were served on the lawn, and after these had been done full justice to the Kev. J. Dickson proposed the toast of " The Health of the Bride and Bridegroom" in felicitous terms, and the bridegroom fittingly responded. Mr A. Russell spoke of the many amiable qualities of the bride, whom he had known almost since she was a child. Mr J. Brown (Temuka"), as a friend of the family for thirty years, in the course of a happy and humorous speech, spoke of the sterling qualities of the bride's parents, and said the bridegroom was fortunate in getting such a wife.
