u The Geraldine Masonic ball, which is it looked forward to with -o much interest [r every year, camo oft on Thursday ingot, r . with great success, despite the fact tint o the roads throughout the district sue in a very bad state through t lie thawing ol „ the recent heavy fall of snow. The attendance was a very satisfactory one, which 8 must have been gratifying to the committee, Q who after going to a great deal of trouble 7 to make the function an enjoyable one, 0 would have been sorely disappointed if the - weather had interfered with the attendance, r The Oddfellows’ Hall was nicely decorated s for the occasion with mirrors, curtain, and a pictures’ making a very pleasant dancing room while the Masonic Hall adjoining was utilised as the supper room, and was very tastefully arranged, part of it being also used as a card-room for non-dancers. Ihe catering was in the bands of Mr C Bryant, who carried it out in first-class stylo, the table being well laid out with delicacies to suit all tastes. The music was supplied by . Messrs Murray and Heap, who gave every } satisfaction, as did also Mr 1), McKoclinio ’ as M.C. During the evening Mrs Stubbs j ! contributed to the enjoyment of those present by rendering a pleasing solo, and Mr 1 HE. Macdonald gave a pleasing recitation. The hall was well lighted, and the dresses one and all looked exceedingly pretty.
