Pretoria, July i. Tho Johannesburg police have; been ordered to ceaso carrying firearms in the street. July 5. President Kruger recommends adding four seats to the Uitlandera’ districts, and fifteen to the Boer districts, one of the latter containing two thousand whites, and that future representation be equal to that of Johannesburg. 'The Orange Free State are disappointed with the proposal, but Mr Hoffmeyer is hopeful that a peaceful adjustment will be arrived at President Kruger has asked Great Britain to agree to a Judical Board of Arbitrators selected from African States and colonies.

Nine hundred residents of Buluwayo have signed a petition to the Queen. Largo withdrawals have been made from the Pretoria Savings Bank.
