London, March 15. A Renter’s telegram from Pekin states that there is no foundation for tho statement that Sir Claude Macdonald had protested against the lease of Port Arthur to Russia. At a conference of tho Associated Chambers of Commerce, it was resolved to urge the Government to press China with a view of obtaining permission to construct a railway from British Burmah to a position in tho Upper Yaug-tso-kiang Volley. News has boon received that a force of Russian marines lauded at Chemulpo, in Corea, and proceeded to Seoul, tho capital. They took with them a large quantity of stores.
