Auckland, March 14, John Brown, a young man, waa sentenced to five years’ hard labor for indecently assaulting Mrs Jane Brown, with intent. March 15. In the charge of arson preferred against Henry Kaysou re the Kiugslaud fire, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty, on the ground that prisoner was not sane. Wellington, March 14. Mr and Mrs Healey were charged with ill-treating a buy named Albert Green, under 14, who was placed in their charge. The case had not concluded when the Court rose for the day. In the Divorce Court Rosa Wilson obtained a decree nisi on the grouud that her husband, James Willoughby Wilson, was already married when he married petitioner. Wilson has disappeared, and it was stated in Court that since he had been married again in Auckland. lu Dowsett v. Dowsett, the husband obtained a decree on the ground that bis wife two years after her marriage, which took place in 1886, became a Mormon, and went away with her father to Utah, where she married again. March 15, In the case of Mr and Mrs Healey the jury found accused guilty of undue severity in beating the boy. The Judge released them ou their own recognisances for the night, and said that he would fine them in the morning.

Hokitika, March 14, In the attempted suicide case of James Brown the Judge ordered him to come up for sentence when called upon. The child murder case against Mrs Margaret Carson occupied all the rest of the day, and she was found not guilty. Hokitika, March 15. In the divorce case Gilmer v. Gilmer, a decree absolute was granted.
