TENNIS.
The return match Timaru Terrace Club v. Waitohi Terrace Club was played on the court of the homo club, LcCreu s Terrace, Timaru, on Saturday. The weather was very suitable, and the match was an enjoyable one all through. The play was interesting throughout, the games iu which the young ladies took part being especially so, aud calling for the most hearty applause. Tho match resulted in a win for Timaru. The visitors came in in the morning, aud were entertained at lunch by the ladies belonging to the local club, aud afternoon tea was also provided for all visitors. The following are details of the play (the Waitohi players being named first) : —Singles-— Miss Pearse 4, Miss E. Teuneut 7 ; Miss Chapman 5, Miss Sotham 7 ; Feildeu i, P. Perry 9 ; Orr 9, Rutherford 3 ; Pearce G, Revell 9 ; Mclntyre 2, Hargreaves 7 ; Halley 8, McLeod 9 ; Meredith 5, Tennent 7. Doubles—Misses Pearse aud Chapman 5, Misses Tenuent and Sotham 7; Miss Pearse aud Feilden 3, Miss Teunent and Perry 7; Miss Chapman and Orr 7, Mias Sotham and Revell 1 ; Feildeu and Orr 7, Perry and Hargreaves 4; W. Pearse and Mclntyre 6, Revell and Rutherford 7 ; Meredith aud Halley 3, Tenuent and McLeod 9.
