A VOICE FROM ASHBURTON.
TO THE EDITOR Sir, — As an old settler of Geraldine, will you allow mo to make a fow remarks on the coming election and the candidates for Geraldine. Mr Rhodes is a wealthy man, and as this election will be fought ou the lines of Capital versus Labor, I count tho farmers iu the latter class, for their is not a more hard-working body in the colony. Therefore, Mr Rhodes can have no real sympathy with the labouring class; theiriuterests are not identical with his. In Mr Flatmau you have one of yourselves, whose iuterest is identical with yours. If he helps himself he helps you. Not only so, but he is a man of sterling principle. I have fought with him iu many political battles, aud, therefore, 1 know what 1 say. I always take a great interest iu the welfare of Temuka and Geraldine. 1 settled in Temuka when there was only four houses in tho place. Therefore I ask you to rally round Mr Flatmau and return him by a large majority, for he is a real Liberal.—l am, etc. .Joseph Mboson,
