TEMUKa cricket club. I The general committee met on Tuesday j evening in Mr Buxtou's office, Mr J. T. M. Hayhnrßt (president) being in the chair. Votes of thanks were passed to the patron (Mr A. E. G. Rhodes, ! £2 2s), the president (£2 2s), and Mr | F. K. FJatrnau (£J Is) for thoir donations !to the funds of the club; to Mr P. McCaskill, senr., for the gift of canvas j for covering the afternoon tea-room ; to ; Messrs J. T. M. Hayhurst, Boyd Thomson, and C. Bean (Christchurch) for bats offered for highest averages. Mr Hayhurst offers a bat for every senior cup play r making 50 runs in an innings ; m the event of no player doiug so, the bat goes to the senior player with the highest average, not less than five cup matches to be played in. Mr Boyd Thomsou's bat is for the highest batting average made in senior or junior cup matches, not les« than six matches to be played in. Mr Bean's bat is for the best bowling average in either competi ion, the winner to have bowled in at least five cup matches, and to have bowled 20 per cent, of the total balls in thi.se mutches. Messrs E. Brown, Dann, and Ferguson were appointed a sub-committee to arrange all foreign matches outside the cup competitions. It was decided to hold over the annual entertainment and dance until the end of the season. Tho hoii. secretary having reported 'hat moat of the members subscriptions had been paid, it was decided that those outstanding be collected without delay in order that all accounts can be kept paid up. To-Day's Matches. Senior Cup. Timaru Ist Eleven v. Temuka Ist Eleven, at Timaru—Allen, Cotterill, Cox, Eraser, Jefferson, Or. Jones, W. O'Callaghan, Perry, S. G. Raymond, Wallia, and Wicksteed. The Temuka men leave at 12.45 p.m. sharp. Junior Cup. Wesloyan C.U. v. Temuka 2nd, at Te- | muka—Jowsey, Hnldgato (2), Kerr, Eilis (3), Warri gton,Swallow, Blackwood, and Dale. Play commences at 215 p.m. A match has been arranged between Temuka a.id Winchester for Monday, November 9th, at Winchester.
