There would bo a slight advance on price originally quoted, as the cement had been taken into store. —Order to be filled. From the Accident Insurance Company, giving information as to the effect that Mr Seddou’s Wages Protection Bill would have upon the Employers’ Liability Insurance scheme. The company were giving increased concessions, and submitted a fresh proposal for signature. —The board agreed that it would be well to continue the policy. From Mr M. Moore, asking that his name be removed from the roll in respect of Pt R.S. 7099, and that of Mr John Langridge substituted.—Agreed to. INTERVIEW. Mr Fraser waited upon the board on behalf of several ratepayers at Waitohi, and asked that the road between Diuda Farm and the laud occupied by Mr McAteor be improved by the cutting down of the crown of the bill. The overseer was ordered to report at next meeting. OVERSEER’S REPORT. The overseer’s report was read as follows : “ To the Chairman. “ Sir,— l have the honor to report for the past mouth as follows ; Contract No. 2, shingling the Waitohi and Kakahu road, has been completed and passed for payment. _ Good progress has been made wiib Contract No. 13, shingling White’s road, and Contract No. 14, formation at Riveralea. film contractor for shingling Milford and Beach road has worked at this job during the month, and it will not take long to complete it. Shingle r pairs have been on the Milford road, Parke’s Road, and Main South road. The contractor for this job is now engaged repairing the Waitohi and Kakahu road. The culvert ou road leadlug to the Orakipaoa Settlement is completed, with the exception of a day or two’s work that cannot be done until after the filling at the sito of the old bridge has settled. This job has cost £93. 1 have had the road running by tne Canal drain, from the Boiling-down road to Mr J. Wareing’s, reformed at a cost of £3. It will now meet the requirements during the summer. lam now having some protective work done for the Geraldine County Council at the Urari bridge. Planks have been put over the Waihi ou the Simthfield road, but J have yet to put on studs and wire. Part of Penny’s road, and the road running from this road to Bissel’s, was in a bad state and dangerous to traffic, and 1 let the rotormi g of part of it to Mr i'itiold at 4a per chain. The fencing of Rea 1069 lias been completed. 1 have had a small culvert put ou the road running betwon Ed. Res 1400 and JN.U. 905. This is at a place whore water crosses the road, and during the time the springs are high lenders it unlit for traffic. The asphalting and korbiug in front of Mr Upie’s store at Winchester has been done. Re road between Fnel’s farm and Ed Res. 945 : The cost of shingling 45 chains of the nearest end of this roa 1 with a coat of shingle not more than 12 cubic yards to the chain would be £—, and the cost of shingling the most used portion of the road running from the v\ aitohi school to the Terrace road would be £—. —1 have, etc., F.
