LABOR ITEMS.
Newcastle, Feb. 14. Owing to a strike of wheelers, the Burwood colliery has been closed. Three hundred men aud boys are affected. Adelaide, Feb. 14. Tho employees at Martin Company’s foundry at Gawler struck work in support of a demand made by the engineers for au increase of wages to 10s per day. Feb. 15. The employees at Fulton & Co.’s have joined the strikers at Martin’s, and over two hundred men are now out.
