A man named George Algie, was filled near Stratford on Tuesday, through being thrown from Mb horse, wriich had bolted. An enquiry, lasting all Saturday, was held by the magistrate into the causo of the tiro which destroyed Herman's auction mart at Hastings. There was no evidence to ehow the origin of the fire. A carpenter named William Davies, aged [\o, was committed for trial at Wellington on a charge of bigamy. Accused was married in Auckland in 1887, and desorted his wife in Napier eighteen months °g°> aiJ d l aß * October married a young woman named Noblo at Wellington.
