THE DEAN CASE.
Sydney, Oct. 15. Green, the fourth man wanted in the Dean case, has surrendered himself. He went to the House of Mr Hill, solicitor, early this morning, and on his advice accompanied him to the police station. He was remanded to Thursday on a charge of conspiring to defeat the ends of iustice, and remanded on a similar charge in another case. He has not been out of town since tho warrant was issued, having hidden himself in a house in the heart of the city. He told Mr Hill that he wanted the whole of the facts brought out iu order to clear his character. He had never been iu Crick’s or Meagher s employ. All he had to with the secret of Dean’s guilt was that on the day when Meagher was going * nt of town he said that he had told Sir J. Salomaus about it and the latter seemed iucliued to bring the whole thing out. Meagher asked Green to go and see Dean and tell him to look out and see the chemist. He took a note from Dean to Smith ; also a verbal message asking the chemist to shut up about the poison. That was the first and all he knew about the matter. It is understood that Deau has communicated with the authorities with a view of making another aud fuller confession. . , . , Green failed to obtain the bail demanded, viz., £3OOO.
