PARK RESERVE.

TO THE BDITOB. Sib, — My attention has been drawn to a|letter in your issue of the 28th May, signed u One Interested," requesting information in reference to the recent letting of the park reserve. In order that that letter may not give rise to a false impression, I shall be glad if you will give publicity to the following facts:— The reserve was not let for 16s per acre, as reported to » One Interested," but at 20s per acre. There was a tender of 21s per acre, but it was not accepted for certain reasons which the board deemed sufficient for declining it " in justice to ratepayers."—l am, etc., J. T. M. Hayhubst, Chairman Park Board. Temuka, June 3,1895. • ■
