The followiug is a list of tn«a principal prize takers : The most popular girl in the school, Edith Cole 3; the most popular boy, William Booker ; these were decided by the votes of the children, the former receiving a handsome album, and tho latter a beautiful writing desk. The afternoon was spent in racing and various games. Among the events were the Young Men's Race (R. Henderson 1, D. Stewart 2) and the Married Women's Race (Mrs Payne 1, Mrs Booker 2). The prizes for the children were chiefly toys, of which a large number and variety were given away. In the evening the children sat down to tea. Thereafter till dusk they amused 1 hemselves by engaging in various sports. Great credit is due to the committee for the manner in which all the arrangements were carried out, and to those ladies who so kindly assisted. After the pleasures of the day were over the young people enjoyed a danca in the schoolroom. Mr B. Richardson acted as Master of Ceremonies.
