Barley, nominal, 3s Gd to 3s 9d ; English, scarce, 4s 3d to 5s 3d. ENGLISH AND FOREIGN MARKETS. London, June 21. Fifteen thousand bales have been catalogued at to-day's wool sales. There was a large proportion of faulty wool from Sydney, for which the prices were a little easier. All good wools remain very firm, and are keenly competed for. New Zealand municipal stocks are improving. The quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,876,000 quarters; for the Continent 1,072,000 quarters. National Bank of New Zealand shares, £1 10s. It is announced that tenders for a Victorian 3J per cent, loan of £2,000,000, with a minimum of 92, will be opened on the 29th inst. The visible supply of wheat is 35,100,000 bushels. June 23. Messrs G. Barber and Co., bankers, have suspended payment. Their liabilities are set down at £500,000. At the wool sales to-day the bales offered were of inferior selection, but prices remained firm for all good wool. Heavy faulty classes were slightly cheaper. Washington, June 21. It is estimated that the amount of American wheat that will be available for export this season is 250,000,000 bushels. St. Petersburg, June 22. The Government have withdrawn the inhibition of the export of all cereals except rye, rye-flour, and bran.
