At Bow Street to-day Captain Verney, M*P., . was charged with encouraging Eugenio Florence, who was recently accused for proenrjng for immoral parposes, Miss Basket!. The woman whqm Captain Yerney is charged with encouraging to procure womqn , is Eugenie; Fodder, alias M, E. Florence,, a French woman, who; in September last decoyed to Paris a young lady named Nellie Maude Baskett, under 21 years of age, for an immoral purpose, Foqllier was .convicted.pf the offence in November last, aud gentepoe was postponed in. .order that she might give some information to tbg, authorities if she thought proper todo .so, In December sbe. wss. brought up j for sentence and received fqur months’ imprisonment. Wilsop, ; whp was desitfibed as a b«i»|ter, is ihe, name, of the for whom alleged Mies Baskett w ( as procured, Xtjg, latter in hei: evidence ay deposed that Captain Yeiney is identical with Wilson. The question of expelling Captain Yerney and MrDe Cobain has been before the Honse, of Commons,, but no action with regard to the former will be taken pending the result of his trial. In the case of Mr Da Cobain lime will allowed him in which to answer the 'charges.
