London, February 20. Messrs Dillon »nd O'Brien have been removed to Gal way. The former has been sent to the infirmary and the latter to 3 cell. The Prince and Princess of Wales will visit Ireland in the summer. The National League of Great Britain support the Irish party under the leadership of Mr Justin McCarthy. Feb. 21. Mr Justin McCarthy is sending Messrs Suilivao and Cox on a mission to Australia on behalf of the party who have seceded from MrParnell. 1 Earl Zetland, Viceroy ot Ireland, is about to pay a visit to the western counties. «. In the House of Commons the proposal for the disestablishment of the Church of England in Wales was drfpated by a majority of 32. Mr Gladstone supported the proposal, explaining »hat what appeared impossible in 1870 was now possible. February 20. The Colonising Committee recommend emigration to relieve distressed districts in the Highlands on the same principle I as Mr Balfour's Irish scheme. . ♦- A HEAVY FAILURE. London, February 19. Watson and Sons, merchants of Melbourne have failed ; liabilities, £130,000. Assets are available to a very considerable amount. Melbourne, February 20. The news of the failure of Watson and Sons, merchants, has created a sensation in business circles here. The failure ie believed to be due to the bad debts contracted in Melbourne. These have been accruing since the burst of the land boom and were considerably increased by the late strike, ENGLAND AND RUSSIA, Mblbottbnb, February 20. From unofficial but' trustworthy advices lately received by. the members of the Military staff here from India, it appears that the Russians are collecting transports near Herat in far larger quantities than they receive credit for. The Anglo-Russian situation is considered to be seriously affected by this move, and a suggestion is made that an Australian Contingent might be sent to render assistannce in the event of war breaking ont in Afghanistan. Another proposal is that an Australian brigade should be sent to attend the great military campwhioh is to be held at Delhi next year. THE SOUDAN WAU. ISUAKIM, Feb. 21. Tokar has been captured by the Egyptian troopß, and an advance on Kassala is possible. The Egyptian troops engaged in the assault of Tokar wore commanded by English officers. The troops advanced on Tokar down through thick busd, narrowly escaping an onslaught by two thousand Dervishes, who assaulted the old government building, where the troops were entrenched. The fighting occupied an hour and a-half, when the Egyptian cavalry with brillaot charges Bwept down on the rebels, completely crushing them. Jt is estimated that the Dervishes loss was 1000 killed, including every Emir of Importance, except Oemau Digna, who witnessed the fight frem the neigbouring village of Al»fK After their sucoess at Tokar the Egyptians occupied, Alafit without opposition from Osman, who fled to Temsen. At large quantity of guns and stores, and a, number of banners, were captured at Tokar. The Egyptian loss was 12 killed, including Captsin Barrow, of the Lancashire Regiment. Four Egyptian officers and torty-two men were wounded, including Captain Beeoh, of the Hussars.
