Bryars won the tow ■ for Temuka, and decided to Bend hit W spponenls into the field, and himseli and Mendelson went out to do battle |P for their club. A good stand was made until 62 runs were entered on the scoring-sheet. Buchanan wa« then, put en to bowl, sand his first ball was too much for Bryars, and made a mean of his timber yard. Digoan then Dame in, and went to work at once. Mendelson, who had been playiDg steadily, was dismissed by Buchanan when the scere had reached 71. The players who followed put up about SO runti between them before the luncheon hour, Dignan then having 62 to his credit, not out. After lunch Dignan was bowled without any alteration being made in his score; he played igood. criekat, mot giving any chances, and when he did lift a ball it was well out of reach of th® fieldsmen.
