THE LABOR REVOLT.
London,-Nov. 26 The strike executive are squabbling among themselves'. They dispute Mr fillet’s authority to invite the Hamburg dock laborers to work with the London Union. Ono thousand pounds has been voted to the stevedores’ fund. Mr Burns has mote%Thftt the , balance in the hands of the Dockers’ Union h; applied for the purpose of maintaining the position, and to relieve the dia'ress,' and appeals to mediators to support him in this view. Nov. 27. At Nottingham to-day the Marquis of Salisbury addressed a public meeting attended by 12,000 persons. In referring to the present labor sgt'ation be advised employers of labor to shorten the hours of work, but thought it would be a mistake to interfere legally. He promised an extension of the allotment system, abolition of school fees, increased facilities for emigration, and that better provision would be made for housing the poor. The wharfingers have conceded the demand of the laborers for payment for the dinner hour.
At the conference at Newport, representing 300,000 miners, resolutions, in favor of eight hours as a day’s work were carried by a large majority.
It is understood that next session the Government will introduce a Bill restricting the importation of cheap labor from foreign countries into Great Britain.
