THE TRAINS.
The Otago Daily Times says :—The express train service between Dunedin and Ohristchurch will come into operation 04 Moaday, May 13th. The North train will leave Dunedin at 11 a.m., stop at Seacliff, Waikouati, Palmerston, and Hampden, and arrive at Oamaru at 2.40 p.m., where there will be a detention of twenty minutes for luncheon. Stoppages will also be made at Waitaki .North, Studholme Junction, St. Andrews, and Timaru, which will be reached at 4.58 p.m. A start will again be made at 5.5 p.m , and, with stoppages at Temuka and Orari, Ashburton will be reached at 6.50. Five minutes' stay for refreshments is here granted, and, with a stoppage at Rakaia, the train is timed to reach Ohristchurch at 8.50 p.m. The down service provides for the train leaving Christchureh at 11 a.m., and reaching Dunedin at 8.55 p.m., stoppage at Port Chalmers being added. There will, in addition to the " express " service, be a slow train to Oamaru, leaving town at 7.45 a.m., calling at all stations, and reaching Oamaru at 1.15 p.m. The return I slow train leaves Oamaru at two o'clock, and arrives in town atS.IQJ p.m. *
