THE NATIVE TEAM V. MELBOURNE. Melbotjbne, August 11. Warbrick's Native football team played a match this afternoon against a Melbourne fifteen, under Rugby Union rules. The weather was fine, and it is estimated that fully 10,000 spectators were present. In the first Bpell the Native team had the best of the play, and had the local team pressed in their 25 most of the time. There was no score this spell, but the Natives were forced down on one occasion, In the second spell the visitors played with great dash, and P. Keogh, Smiler, and H. Lee each obtained a try, none of which were, however, converted into goals, and the game resulted irfU win for the Native team by 9 tries to nil. MGLAND V. SYDNEY UNIVERSITY. Sydney, August 12. The English football team played a match against the Sydney University and won by 8 points to 4.
