PRESENTATION TO THE MISSES FISH.
A yery pleating incident took place oft Thursday afternoon at th© residence of Dr Pish, Geraldine. Until recently, and for many years past, the Misses Fish haye acted as organists at the Episcopalian Church, and no stress of weather was.sufficient to keep them from their post when their services were needed. They have likewise aided most willingly at musical gatherings of all descriptions, and their talented performances have always .. won the highest appreciation of the public. When, therefore, some short time ago the position of organist had to be resigned owing to the labor inyolved proving too arduous, it was felt on ail sides that some recognition should be made of the r excellent service that had been rendered. A small amount of canvassing resulted in a handaomitftum being forthcoming, and it was resolved that the presenta- . should take the form of a piano. A i number; of intimate friends met at the Fish on Thursday last, «'*M fche'lev. Misses Fish, suitably and sincerely thanked 'those friends who were present, and requested the deepest thanks of himself and daughters to be conveyed to the many other kind friends for the exceedingly ". handsome and valuable present they had made. The Misses Fish had siniply tried to do some little good towards the cause of God, and to render some slight aid in the musical gatherings of the dffitrict. Their friends, 'he stated, could not hare made a happier choice .in the| selection of a present, as a jmch as the magnificent one now in the room, was a gift after their (the recipients') own hearts. ■ He again thanked them oi behalf of the Missel Fish for their handsome present and hearty expressions of good will. The instrument is a grand one by ( Haseler, and is of superb; tone and quality. The young ladies gave their friends who were present a treat, by sitting, down and playing a. duet that was irtill' calqulated to demonstrate the of the piano. .
