IRISH AFFAIRS.

Dublin, Feb. 1.

Mr Alex. Blaine M.P. for South Armagh, has been convicted on the charge of speaking in support of the plan of campaign atGweedore, County Donegal, and a sentence of four months was imposed. The decision has been appealed against. Mr H. J. Gill, M.P. for Limerick, has resigned bis seat in the House of Commons.

Eleven Irishmen have been imprisoned for terms varying from one to three months for participating in unlawful assemblies.

Another outrage has occurred at Tralee. A farmer who had been boycotted and was under police protection, has been found brutally murdered, Mr Cox, M.P., who was recently sentenced to four months* imprisonment for participating in a proclaimed meeting, has received an additional month’s imprisonment for inciting the people to join the League. Mr Sullivan, M.P,, was released from gaol yesterday, and met with an enthusiastic reception from the peasantry. His hotel was surrounded, and a number of congratulatory addresses presented to him. London, Feb, 2.

The Marquis of Eipon and the Hon. ‘John Morley have left for Dublin, where they will deliver addresses in favor of Home Eule. Lord Eipon was met by a large number of persons at Chester railway station, and in the course of a speech said that the desire of his party in respect to Ireland was to effect a union of hearts instead of a mere paper union.
