Messrs Gracie, Maclean and Adam report for the fortnight ending Saturday ns folio a n : Horses —At the Timaru Horse Bazaar on tho 14th inst. our entry was large, and competition during the day was brisk, resulting in about one-half of j be lot, changing hands. To-day we entere i nlvut 64 head for sale, Best draughts sold at fair values, while aged and inferior were almost unsaleable. This also applies to hackneys anil tight harness horses. We quote best draughts at from £l7 10s to £26 10s ; medium, £8 to £l3 10s ; saddle and buggy horses, medium to good, £l2 to £l6 ; light and inferior, £4 to £/ 10s.

A cargo of Australian wheat for export to the Continent has been sold at 345.

Seventy-one bags and 600 mats of Queensland sugar have been sold at auction at prices ranging from 13s 6d to 16s 6d. The wheat market is firmer whli on upward tendency, owing to the continued cold weather. Ex warehouse it remains at. 34s 6d to 355. Off coast cargoes are quoted at 84s to 34s 6d. Tire number of quarters afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,430,000, and for the Continent 3 90,000, •

The flour msrke.t .is dull. New Zealadd ex store is quoted at 235, Mutton tallow is quoted at 27s 3d and best beef at 26s per cwt. An increased demand is likely, owing to a speculative movement for a rise. In sugar there is a general decline, German is quoted at 15s,
