John Sh'eehy was committed for trial at Auckland on Friday on a charge of indecently assaulting a child three years of age.

Cameron, proprietor of the Mabel mine, at Tin Creek, Te Aroha, has entered into nnaugements with the Bank of New Zealand to forward for him to Germany fifteen tons of selected ore from that mine for treatment at Frieburg. Sir Tillius Vogel was reported to have loft "Wellington suddenly fur Auckland by the Te Anau on Friday night having engaged his passage at the Dunedin office. He is, however, still in Wellington. On Saturday night n six-roomed lions" at Richmond, near Christchurch, was bu-ned down, and two cottages were aerioiHy damaged. There is intense indignation, especially amongst those whose relatives were massacred by Te Kooti. Several have vehemently declared that they will shoot him like a dog. Great fears are entertained that the threat will be carried into effmt. The setters are anxious lint the Government sloauld use its influence to prevent the meeting.
