CHRISTCHURCH CORN EXCHANGE. : The Corn Exchange reports for the week ending Friday evening, the 11 tb inst. : But very little oqrn has been planed/on the market; during the week,, Farmer* are generally busy with.their harvest, the. showers of late : having bad the effect of frightening those who intended threshing; from the stock. The wheat samples so far are not so .good: f ■ had been being uneven and , hut, a , faking color, evidently ripened .irregularly. Oats are, up to the general average, but the yield will be light. / It is ; too early to judge the, quality, of barley ; samples exhibited are fairly plump, but tend to fltntiness, but this will i be. improved by stacking. Grass seed is not being offered; so; largely us last month, , . i Wheat—With the exception of a few sales to local millers little bnsiness has been transacted ; buyers are bolding aloof in order that prices' may come within their limits.
