GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of this Board was held on Tuesday evening. Present—Messrs R. H. Pearpoint (Chairman), W. 8. Mnehn, W. Berry, J. A. Quinn, and N. Dunlop. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and conßrmed. CORRESPONDENCE. ' Outward correspondence was read and approved of. Inward was read and considered : From Messrs Hsmersley and Wood, enclosing their further opinion upon taking gravel out of the river-bed.—The Clerk upon receipt thereof had forwarded th* cheque drawn last Board day. From the Town Banger, enclosing bin report of horses and cattle impounded within the district.

Prom the Geraldine Road Board, re sharing the coat of the Geraldine footbn'dgp, and acknowledging receipt of Bird's letter upon the subject. From Mr T. Farrell, tendering for T.S. 237, and offering 5s for the same.— It was resolved not to accept, Mr Farrell's tender, and to call for tenders, to he in by the next meeting. From Mr E. Lough, re charitable nid, asking the Boird to reduce, if possible, the number of persons receiving charitable aid in the Geraldine Town District.—The Clerk was instructed to write to Mr Lough, asking the number of rations supplied to each person, and also to inform him that MrT. TreugroVe had left the diet riot. THE LAKPS. . The Clerk was instructed to writs to Mr T. Heilihy relighting lamps when the moon goes down before IL3O p.m. ; also to call his attention to the fact of the lamps near Huffey's corner and the Oddfellows' Hall going out occasionally in wet or windy we&ther. BT-LAWS, Proposed by Mr Maslio, seconded by Mr Qu>nn —" That the resolution passed at last meeting adopting by-laws from l'lo 10 be now confirmed."—Carried. WORKS COMMITTEE. The iVorks Committee reported what had been done re the fencing in of Reserve No. 2716, Raukapuka Bush; The Ol»rk was'instructed to prepare plans of iron gatep. Specifications of the works were then read, and alterations made as follows : That the Overseer call for alternate tenders for boring holes and staples for wire, aad small iron gates to be 'substituted for wooden onee. OVERSEER'S KE.POR3 1 . The Overseer's report was read and considered, It was decided to call for tenders for a well and bricking ; the details to bei left with the Works Committee.
