FOOTBALL.
N.S. WALES 7. WELLINGTON. There was beautiful weather ! for the match at Wellington on Saturday, and about 4000 persons attended. The ground was in good order. They Sydney forwards were lighter than those of Wellington, and in the first spell the latter fairly romped over them, having a slight slope in their favor. The passing of the visitors was not well judged and often did them barm. Connall scored a try by a brilliant piece of play, from which Mclntyre kicked a beautiful goal. Roberts also scored another try from a well-timed pass. In the second spell the visitors played rather better, but twice a further score seemed inevitable, the Wellington men actually crossing the line, and being thrown bodily back. Nothing more was scored, the result being 7 points to oil. THE CANTERBURY TEAM. The following will represent Canto 1 bury in the match against New Sr.utb Wales at Christchurch to-morrow Full hick : Wilson; three quarter hacks: W. Allardye?, E. L Francis, E. Webb; half backs : G.
