GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.

A special meeting of this Board was held in the Board’s office on Thursday evening to receive and consider the Overseer’s *eport on the various works applied for by several ratepayers at the last regular meeting of the Board. Ihere were present—Messrs R. H. Pearpoint (Chairman), J. Hnffey, W. S. Maslin, ’.R. Taylor, and J. Mundell. The Overseer was also in attendance. The following were the works considered, and upon which the Overseer reported as to the work required and the probable cost; —Lieutenant Ward’s application for the footpath to bo formed from the Church of England gate to the drill shed ; Messrs Rowkeß and Parker’s application for the road to be formed between High Str*et and Shaw Stroet: Mr J. Mundell’s application for the footpath to be formed and shingled by the sheepyards ; the formation and shingling of the road between the Main Road, Geraldine, and the entrance to Mr Gaby’s property, on the Pleasant Valley Road. —It was decided, upon the proposition of Mr Taylor, seconned by Mr Mundell, to call for tenders for the various works; tenders to be in by next meeting of the Board. With regard to lighting that part of the town situated on the Pleasant Valley Road, it was decided, seeing the season is so far advanced, to let the matter stand over till next season, This being all the business, the meeting terminated.
