Sydney, July 12.

The proceedings of the Legislative Assembly have been commented upon by the Press generally in terms of great condemnation, the scenes in the Chamber during the recent lengthened sitting being characterised as disorderly beyond description. The sitting lasted 56£ hours. Lady Stephen, wife of Sir Alfred Stephen, Lieut.-Goveruor of New South Wales, died to day. Melbourne, July 13. A compromise having been effected between the parlies the case Bell v. Clarke was dismissed by the Suprem Court, each party paying his own costs.
