ASHBURTON MARKETS. Mr E. G. Stareley (for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company) reports on the Ashburton stock sales on Tuesday as follows : About 2500 sheep and a fair entry of cattle were yarded. There was a good atlendanca of buyers, and values were decidedly firmer for sheep. Sheep—Pat crossbred wethers made 10s 6d to 12s 6d, do ewes 7s to Bs, fat mixed 2-tooths 7s to 7s dd, fat 2-tooth crossbred wethers 10s, ordinary crossbred lambs 3s Id, mixed 2-tooth crossbreds 6s, 2-tooth crossbred wethers in forward condition 7a 2d to 8* 6d, A few merino wethers 2s, good store do As Id. _____ AUSTRALIAN M A BEETS. At to-day’s wool sales 18,600 bales were submitted, and met with an animated demand. Scoured wools are fully Ad per lb higher than at the close of last sales. Medium crossbreds are Id per lb higher.
