An inquest was held at Christchurch on Saturday on the body of Agnes Austin, aged 16, daughter of Mr Austin, Solicitor, wbo died somewhat suddenly without a medical man being Id attendance. Medical evidence showed that death had resulted from congestion of the brain. It appeared that deceased’s father bad a post mortem examination made before that ordered by the coroner, who blamed him for doing it, pointing out that it was illegal. The jury added a rider affirming the inadvisability of private post mortems in similar circumstances.
