The Marquis of Salisbury accuses Mr Parnell of having frabricated the story of the Conservative party having offered bim Home Rule.
July 1.
The Fenians ore making menaces against Lord Hartington and Mr Chamberlain, and in consequence these gentlemen have been placed under police protection.
Conservative candidates have b«-en returned unopposed for three of the Liverpool seats, Baron de Worms bring one of the number.
Michael Davitt, speaking on H<m° Rule, dps announced himself as a candidate in opposition to the Marquis of Hartington. Mr Gladstone has issued an appeal to the London electors, calling uprn them to support such candidates as are pledged to the redress of the injustices which Ireland suffers, and thus consolidate the hearty union between that country and England, which will add immortal strength to the British Empire. At present there' 122 Unionist candidates and 123 supporters of Mr Gladstone have beeu returned unopposed.
