London, May 1 . His Highness the Prince »>f Vvales, attended by Sir Phillip Cumiffe Owen, made a detailed inspection to-duy of tic who’e of the Indian and Colonial Exhibition. His Highness was received by the Agents-General and tin Executive Commissioner, and i-xpressec to them his gratification at the completeness of the arrangements and Ur hearty support accorded the undertaking by the various Australasian Governments. The following colonists were among- 1 those who were presented to, and welcomed by, His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales at the Indian and Colonial Exhibition :—Sir W. H. T. Mitchell, Sir A. Blytb, Sir Samud, Davenport, Sir F. D. Bell, Si' J. Cockle, Sir Alexander Smart, Hon. R. 0. Bader, Hon. P. F. Garrick, Hon. W. H. Walsh, Dr Yon Haast, Di Buller, Messrs Russell, White, S. Coombs, J. Bosisfon, R, Barrows, P. G. King, Hemant, Eraser, and the Secretaries of the various Commissioners. All the courts were inspected and greatly admired. The principal attractions in the colonial courts were the minerals, wool, photographs, the aviary, views of Port Jackson, ferns, and Papuan collections from New South Wales ; gold and wine trophies, wool, paintings, furnitnre, ferns, and timber, from Victoria ; native scenes, fruit, silverwar and wine trophies, from South Australia ; minerals, pearls and natural history collection, from Queensland ; timber, pearls, and shells, from Western Australia ; furniture, timber, wool, and a moa skeleton, from New Zealand. His Royal Highness expressed surprise at the forward slat* of the Exhibition, which, he said, w«highly complimentary. India and Cana'V have a splendid display.
