AUCTIONEERS' REPORT.

TIMARTJ,

Messrs Jonas and Bourn report for the week ending Saturday ,as follows :

We are pleased to report a slight im provement in demand and price for both sheep and cuttle, and we sincerely trust that we have touebod the lowest prices.

Although feed is not abundant over tho whole district, there are many who hare a sufficiency, and we are inclined to think that the want of feed ha» not been the solo cause of the late very low pricen. Owners appear to have been scared by a trifling fall in rates, and glutted the markets in consequence ; and this being felt operated disastrously, and prevented speculaticn. Harvest operations arc cow nearly over, and stubbles will be available, and we sincerely hope that prices will improve. Pleasant Point—We held our regalsr sale at the Point Yards on Monday last, the Ist inst. There was more than an average number of stock yarded, and a fair business was done. We sold 49 crossbred hoggets io low condition i;t 5s 6d ; 90 2-tooth wethers, fa; 60 ffit ewes, 6s 6d ; 332 crossbred ewes, full mouth, 4s 6d; 100 lambs, 3s lOd ; 104 lambs, 48 7d ; 400 merino ewes. 3 fat steer* «t £6; 55 steers and heifers, 18 monthe to 3 yearn, at from £2 5s to £4 2h 6:1; 21 < steers, 2 years old, at £3 5s ; 79 store pigs, 7s to lis 5 3d.

Horses —A good number wore entered for sale nt our bazaar to-day. There wat a numerous attendance of buyers, aid we succeeded in selling every lot entered. The entries comprised chiefly light sorts, very few draughts coming forward, which may be expected at this season, farmers being busy with the harvest. -We mutt say that there is a slight improvement in this market, as every horse to-day brought' owners' values, and in some cases over. We also sold three spring c»rts at £l2, £ls 10s, and £lO. We qno'e ntaunch heavy draughts from £l4 to £23 ; medium do., £9 to £ls ; hicks «nd light harness horses from £7 to £l3 15s, according to age, stamp, and quality.
