CRICKET.
TIMARU V. TEMUKA
A cricket mutch between teams representing the above Chiba took place in Timaru ou Saturday last. Twelve men played on eaOi side, and the game commenced aboitly after half-past one p,m. The Temuka men were captained by Rryara and the Timaru men by Godby, and ;he former winning the toss decided to bat. The innings proved a shoit one, and the score made was very small, 56 being the total. Of this number 12 were contributed by Bryars and 7 by Cleaves. The Timaru men then went in, and when time was called only four wickets had fallen, and 250 stood to their credit. Of these 132 were contributed by F. Fish, notout, who thus made the largest score ever put together on the Timaru grounds. The other players who made scores (
worlliy of note were C. T. H. Perry (30), J. Lawrenson (41), and S. G. Raymond (12). Tlie following are the scores :
