It is expected that M< Shi's Service and Berry will tender their formal resignations early next week, and Parliament will dissolve about the 20'h February.

Feb. 14 Arrived, this morning— Bengal, s.-., from London.

Sydney, Feb. 12

The Government hare resolved to abandon the proposed scheme of taxing the stocks held by merchants in their warehouses and stores. A somewhat serious collision took place outside the Heads at an early hour this morning between the steamers Newcastle and Naomi. There was a thick fog at the time, which prevented the vessels seeing each oilier. Both vessels sustained great damage, though fortunately none of the passengers or crews were injured.
