Tin's over expenditure will be more than covered by ibe surplus balance for 1886, which is e-tim ited to reach £6232 10s. The total assets of the Board, inc'uding Inrbur •Milks and improvements, amount to £484,683 3s 9.1 ; and its liabilities, including the £200,000 loan, to 18s Bd, leaving a credit asset of £277,226 ss. The Dunedin whaler Splendid is now working oft’ Stewart Island, and has secured another valuable whale.
