TIMARU HARBOR BOARD.

A special meeting ot the Board was held yesterday. Present —Messrs W. Moody (Chairman), J. H. Sutter, Sims, E. Elworth.y, Talbot, Wilson, and Acton. The Board went into Committee for the purpose of taking into consideration the proposals re the loan of £IOO,OOO which it was intended to raise. On resuming, Mr Sutter moved, Mr Sims seconded, and it was carried- -“That the Bank be authorised to fix the minimum of the loan now in their hands at £lO2 at 5 per cent. ’ After consideration in Committee, was resolved, on the motion of Mr Acton, seconded by Mr Sims—“ That the Chairman be authorised to sign the agreement in re the Oamaru dredge as read.” Mr El worthy moved Davidson be requested to make a thorough inspection of the Oamaru dredge before leaving Oamaru, and report to the Board as to its state at next) meeting,” The Chairman read a letter from Mr John Inglia regretting the action taken by the Board in regard to the tug’s services to the barque Hudson, and stating that a meeting of consignees and others interested would be held in the district. He asked the Chairman to attend.—lt was decided that it was not necessary for any representative from the Board to bo present. The meeting then adjourned.
