AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT.
GERALDIHB. Messrs J. Mundell and Co. report sales for the week ending Saturday, 9th Dec., 1886 : At the monthly sale of stock in the Geraldine Yards on Wednesday, the 6th, there was a large entry of stock, especially sheep, yarded, but owing, we believe, to to the continued dry weather but very little stock changed owners at auction. Privately several lots were sold, The numbers yarded wore 3407 sheep, 88 head of cattle, 26 pigs. Prices obtained were : —For crossbred ewes, fat, 8s ;-2-toolh ewes, in good store condition, 7s 7d ; 2 tooth store ewes and wethers, 6s 2d. Pat steers and heifers sold from L 5 5s to L 6 15s ; dairy cows from L 8 2s 6d to L 4 ss. Pigs; N one were sold. At Winchester Pair on Thursday,the 7th, there was an average entry of stock yarded. Of our entry we sold 13 forward store ‘steers at L 4 10s to L 5 11s; 1 cow, close on calving, L 5 ; 1 bull at 355. 64 fat sheep at 9s, During the week we sold privately a line of 1000 2 and 4-tooth crossbred sheep at 6s 9d.
