A PETITION having been presented to this Council by LANDOWNERS and SETTLERS of 'that Portion of the County lying: between the ORARI and RANGiTATA ELVERS, praying that the said ( portion of the County may be constituted a WaterSupply District for Irrigation purposes, in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act 1876 and Amendment Act 1883, It is hereby RESOLVED that the SAID DISTRICT be CONSTITUTED a WATER-SUPPLY DISTRICT in accor dance with the said Act, under the name of “ The Orari and Raogitata WaterSupply District,” and in accordance with the Description and Definition of the District set forth in the said petition ; and it is also resolved that tin’s Resolution shall be deemed to be a Special Order duly made under Section 17 of the Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act 1885, and shall come into force on the First Day of January, 3886.—Carried.
