Reduction in Price. rjIHE Proprietor begs to notify that the PRICE OF THIS PAPER has been LOWERED as follows SUBSCRIPTION : For One Quarter (in advance) ... 4s „ „ „ (booked) ... 5s Yearly (in advance) 15s „ (booked) ... 20s It is now the CHEAPEST TRIWEEKLY PAPER in NEW ZEALAND, and the Proprietor trusts that the INCREASED CIRCULATION will compensate for the reduction made/ in its price. It is essentially a LOC AL PAPER, devoted to the interests of the district. It is impossible for the papers published in large centres of population to pay the sam© attention to the requirements of the district as it does. It has given its advocacy to EVERY MOVEMENT for the ADVANCEMENT OF THE DISTRICT. It.has never been known to take the side of the Strong against the Weak. While it baa upheld the Eights of Working Men, it has always recognised the Rights of Property. The farmers of this district have found it an ARDENT ADVOCATE for RELIEF being given to them from the burden of a USURIOUS RATE OF INTEREST. The scheme of a NATIONAL BANK—originated in its columns, and consistently advocated by it—has now been taken up in Parliament, and if it passes GREAT BENEFITS will accrue from it. On these grounds the Proprietor basss his claim for support, and he trusts he will not be disappointed.
