TEMUKA TOWN BOARD.

The weekly meeting of the above Board took place on Thursday last. Present—Messrs Gray (Chairman), Blyth, Brown, Quinn and Mason. MINUTES, The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence inwards and outwards was read and considered. chairman’s statement. The Chairman said the Town Board had interviewed the Road Board and a satisfactory arrangement Was arrived at, viz,, that the Road Board should place to the credit of the Town Board the sum of £IOO as their share of the property of the Temuka Road Board. TENDERS. Tenders were opened for building tiie offices for the Board, as follows:—J. Mclnness, £7l 10s fid; Clinch and Lloyd, L 63 4s; H. Gaston, L 62 12s 4d ; R. B. Comer, L 62 ; T. Edwards, LSB 10s (accepted). One tender was received for the lease of reserve in Vine Street, and, after discussion, it was left to the Chairman to deal with. MISCELLANEOUS. It was resolved that the Clerk prepare specifications for forming footpaths kerbing and channelling in Commerce Street, from Railway terrace to Main South Roak, to be submitted to the Board at next meeting. It was resolved that the Clerk report on the cost of a well and piping in Vine street. The Clerk was also instructed to report on Cass Street, and if he thought it necessary to invite tenders for work required. Tenders^to be in by next Board day. The Clerk was instructed to invite tenders for re-forming and shingling part of Wood Street from Main South Road (Twomey’s corner) to Vine Street, part of Vine Street to be included if the Clerk and Chairman think it necessary. The Clerk was instructed to call for tenders for lighting 5 lamps, or mure, at per lamp, and also for all available reserves. RATE. Mr Quinn proposed and Mr Mason seconded—“ That at the next meeting the Board strike a rate of in the £.” The meeting then, adjourned till Wednesday July 30ih.
