TEMUKA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A special meeting of the above Committee was held last night in the schoolroom. Present Messrs K. F. Gray (Chairman), Kirk apd O’Halloran. The meeting was called to receive the report of the deputation that wai'ed on the Inspector with regard to establishing the school a District High School. The deputation reported that the Inspector had told them that the Board of Education would be willing to supplement the funds to the extent of £ for £ received for school fees, provided the examination results were first-class, or pro rata if the results were not so satisfactory. On the motion of Mr Kirk, seconded by Mr O’Halloran, it was resolved— 1 That the Secretary write to the Board of Education thanking them fer their action in constituting the school a District High School, and expressing their desire that further necessary steps shall he taken in advert'sing the same immediately,’ The meeting then adjourned.
